Traffic Advisories for September 7

* Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal [to May 2015]
Kings County:

• Beginning Tuesday, September 6, the Cardigan Bridge on Route 321, Wharf Road in Cardigan, will close to traffic as crews begin the replacement of the structure. During the shutdown a detour will be in place and is as follows:

Traffic heading north on Route 321 will take a left on Shore Road, then a right on Route 4, Seven Mile Road, then a right on Launching Road, then right to access locations north of the Cardigan Bridge on Route 321. Traffic heading south on Route 321 will use the same detour in reverse to access locations south of the Cardigan Bridge. Traffic accessing Cardigan from Route 4 will use Shore Road to access locations south of the bridge, and Launching Road to access locations north of the bridge.

• Route 17 - Point Pleasant – The Point Pleasant Bridge on Route 17 in Point Pleasant is now closed to traffic. A detour has been set up and is as follows:

Vehicles traveling east from Murray River will follow Route 4 north, then take a right on Route 324, the Peters Road, then right onto Route 17a, and follow it until it becomes Route 17. The detour is reversed for vehicles traveling west on Route 17 toward Murray River.

• Route 24 - Murray River – Route 24, the Dover Road in Murray River, is now under construction. One-way traffic will be maintained over the course of the project. Minor delays can be expected.

• Route 2 - Bristol – Route 2 in Bristol is under construction. On occasion, traffic will be required to detour around the site, otherwise one-way traffic will be maintained through the project area. Minor delays can be expected.

When a detour becomes necessary the route is as follows: Vehicles traveling east on Route 2 will take a left on Lot 40 Road, then a right onto St. Peters Harbour Road, then left back onto Route 2. The detour will be reversed for vehicles traveling west.

Queens County:

• Route 6 - Oyster Bed Bridge – Route 6 in Oyster Bed Bridge is now under construction. Crews are installing shoreline protection on the approaches to the bridge. One-way traffic will be maintained over the course of the project. Minor delays can be expected.

• Route 1 - Hampton – Route 1, the Trans Canada Highway in Hampton is now under construction. One-way traffic will be maintained over the course of the project. Minor delays can be expected.

• Route 13 - Rennie’s Road – Route 13 in Rennie’s Road is now under construction. One-way traffic will be maintained over the course of the project. Minor delays can be expected.

Prince County:

• Route 1A - North Bedeque – Route 1A in North Bedeque is now under construction. One-way traffic will be maintained over the course of the project. Minor Delays are expected.

• Route 1a - Ross’ Corner Bridge – The Ross’ Corner Bridge on Route 1a in Ross’ Corner is under construction. A temporary bridge is in place to divert traffic around the site. Minor delays can be expected.
