Environment, Energy and Forestry Minister Richard Brown is meeting with Energy and Mines ministers from across the country this coming week in Kananaskis, Alberta.

The theme of the annual meeting is “Moving towards a Pan-Canadian Energy Strategy.”

“I look forward to discussions about the need for a national energy strategy,” said Minister Brown. “All Canadians will benefit from a national strategy, especially here in the Atlantic Region. Strengthening the energy sector will provide a reliable source of renewable, affordable power for Atlantic Canadians and create long-term jobs.”

Minister Brown said the meetings provide an opportunity for federal, provincial and territorial governments to set key priorities for the energy sector and establish a plan of action.
