TD Summer Reading Program for children launched

* Tourism and Culture [to May 2015]
All children are invited to join in the fun of the TD Summer Reading Program at their local library, says Tourism and Culture Minister Robert Vessey.

“This program is a fun way to encourage children to maintain their reading skills throughout the summer. It’s also a great way to show children that reading can be a lot of fun,” said the minister. “This is one more example of the important role our public library service plays in promoting literacy in Prince Edward Island.”

This year’s theme is Splash! Celebrate Summer. Each child participating in the event will receive a free poster and logbook. Participants earn stickers by reading books over the summer. Local library branches will host theme-related activities throughout the summer. Parents can register their children for the program by visiting their local library branch.

The TD Summer Reading Program is a national program organized by Library and Archives Canada, and supported by the TD Bank Financial Group.
