Islanders in the Charlottetown area now have access to additional walk-in clinic hours at the Parkdale Medical Centre, says Deborah Bradley, executive director of Community Hospitals and Primary Care for Health PEI.
“We’re pleased to have Karen Moore-Edwards, a nurse practitioner, providing 24 additional hours of service each week at the Parkdale walk-in clinic that allows the clinic to remain open throughout the day on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays,” Bradley said. “Islanders should see their family doctor first if they are not feeling well, but walk-in clinics offer safe, quality, non-urgent care for those who can’t wait for an appointment or who are temporarily without a family doctor.”
Located at Murphy’s Parkdale Pharmacy (20 St. Peter’s Rd.), the Parkdale Medical Centre’s new walk-in clinic hours are:
• Monday, 4 to 6 p.m.
• Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Friday, 4 to 6 p.m.
• Saturday, 9 to 11 a.m.
• Sunday, 9 to 11 a.m.
Since clinic hours are subject to change, patients should call first (894-4449 or 892-2221) or visit www.murphyspharmacies.com to confirm availability. For urgent health-care needs, Islanders should continue to visit their nearest emergency department.
