Two of Prince Edward Island’s flagship golf courses are open and ready to welcome residents and the many visitors who come to the Island to enjoy the game, says Tourism and Culture Minister Robert Vessey.

“I want to wish both visitors and Islanders a great upcoming golf season,” said the Minister. “Prince Edward Island continues to receive international recognition for its courses. The provincial government will continue to work to make our Island a world-class golf destination.”

Brudenell River Golf Course and Mill River Golf Course opened today. Dundarave and the Links at Crowbush Cove courses will open May 20.

“After a long winter, we are eager to see our courses open once again to provide a top golf experience,” said the Minister. “A strong golf industry benefits our accommodations, restaurants and attraction operators in every region of our Island.”

Prince Edward Island was named the 2011 Undiscovered Golf Destination of the Year by the International Association of Golf Travel Operators.
