By 1926, he was re-established in business, operating a photography studio, tobacco and sundries shop and a gas pump. At the time of his death in 1936, Acorn was the Mayor of Souris.
Acorn had an eye for the picturesque in photography and his collection includes many scenic images from the Souris area. Some of the images included in the Acorn exhibit are, Sportsman's Paradise, Fisherman's Luck, The Old Mill and Fishing Stand.
The Public Archives and Records Office webpage recently received an award from the PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation for providing access to historical photographs via the World Wide Web.
