Priest Pond Bridge Closes to Traffic May 10

Beginning Monday, May 10, the Priest Pond Bridge on Route 16, the Northside Road in Priest Pond will close to all traffic as the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal begins work to replace the structure. The bridge will be closed for approximately 7 weeks.

An alternate route will be set up and well marked by the Department. Because of the location of the closure, and because many of the unpaved local roads in the area are not suitable for heavier traffic, the alternate route is as follows:

Traffic heading west on the Northside Road portion of Route 16 will take a left onto Route 302, the Baltic Road, then right onto the southern section of Route 16, then right onto Route 305, the Souris Line Road, then left back onto Route 16, the Northside Road. The alternate route is reversed for traffic heading east on the Northside Road.
