Prince Edward Island will host a forum on entrepreneurship that offers the opportunity for new entrepreneurs to learn from established businesspeople, says Allan Campbell, Minister of Innovation & Advanced Learning.
Innovation PEI will sponsor the 2010 Atlantic Canadian Entrepreneurship Expo to be held on May 12 at the Charlottetown Civic Centre. It is one of five expos taking place in Maritime cities.
“This is an exciting event that will help encourage entrepreneurial spirit in the province,” says Campbell. “This expo is a good chance to get PEI’s new entrepreneurs in the same room with established members of the Maritime business community, and will help the region’s businesspeople to build relationships with one another.” The Expo will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and feature a trade show, a networking lunch and keynote speakers, including Richard St. John, author of 8 to be Great, a book on traits that lead to success.
The interprovincial expos have grown from the Greater Moncton Entrepreneurship Expo held last October, which was conceived by Moncton entrepreneur Brad LeBlanc as a chance to motivate, educate and inspire new entrepreneurs and small business owners.
“Entrepreneurship is alive and well on Prince Edward Island,” says LeBlanc. “Bringing brilliant minds and diverse entrepreneurs together will result in an amazing day. Dreams will be dreamt, and deals will be signed. This event is not to be missed by any entrepreneur or soon-to-be entrepreneur.”
