The award recognizing the commitment of the Western School Board for French second-language education is a well-deserved honour said Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Doug Currie.

“I am so pleased to see the Western School Board recognized for their initiative in implementing French second-language programs in their schools,” said Minister Currie. “I want to thank the Canadian Parents for French for establishing this award and for their continued commitment to strengthening French second-language learning in the province.”

Canadian Parents for French PEI established the Lieutenant Governor Leading the Community Award to recognize an organization, business or individual who has shown continuing and constant support for linguistic duality and Canadian unity.
