During a meeting today with Heather Moyse at Atlantic Canada House in Vancouver, Premier Robert Ghiz presented Moyse with her home province’s flag.

“Having an athlete of Heather’s calibre representing Prince Edward Island is something that Islanders are extremely enthusiastic about,” said Premier Ghiz. “The Olympics are the pinnacle of sports and this is a huge accomplishment for any athlete. We want Heather to know the entire Island is behind her.”

Moyse’s first day of competition at the Olympics is February 23 where she will be competing in the Women’s Bobsleigh with pilot Kaillie Humphries of Calgary.

“Heather brings a great sense of pride to her province,” said Premier Ghiz. “On behalf of all Islanders, I wish her all the best in her Olympic endeavors.”

Moyse, a native of Summerside, has represented Prince Edward Island on the national and international level for several years in track, rugby and bobsleigh.
