Beef Plant Says No Carcasses Destroyed

Jim Casey, chair of the board of Atlantic Beef Products Inc., says that allegations the plant destroyed 125 beef carcasses because of a refrigeration malfunction are completely unfounded. The allegations were made during Question Period in the provincial legislature earlier this week.

“The plant has never had any reason to dispose of carcasses,” said Mr. Casey. “We take great pride in our quality control and operating standards.”
