A Cabinet shuffle involving changes in responsibility for four ministers was announced by Premier Robert Ghiz today.
“I believe these changes will help the province move forward as we address our objectives as government,” the Premier said.
∙ Hon. Allan Campbell will head up the Department of Innovation and Advanced Learning
∙ Hon. Richard Brown will move to the Department of Environment, Energy and Forestry
∙ Hon. Neil LeClair will serve as Minister of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Rural Development
∙ Hon. George Webster will become Minister of Agriculture
“I have always been very clear that re-assignment of Cabinet duties will take place on a fairly regular basis,” Premier Ghiz said. “I am very fortunate to have a very strong and capable team from which to draw, and I believe these changes will be very positive for Prince Edward Island.”
The ministers were sworn in this morning at a ceremony presided over by Lieutenant Governor Barbara A. Hagerman.
