December 18, 2008 * Communities, Cultural Affairs and Labour [to Jan 2010]Hon. Carolyn Bertram, Minister of Communities, Cultural Affairs and Labour says she hopes a story in today’s Guardian about the future of the Dominion building in Charlottetown doesn’t give some readers the impression that the site for a provincial museum has been pre-determined. As Minister Bertram stated on November 14 when she announced Government’s commitment to a new provincial museum, “It is important that we undertake proper planning for a new facility to ensure it meets the expectations and needs of the people of our province. “I wish to assure Islanders that Government is committed to a provincial museum,” she said today. “However, all planning for the museum, including the identification of an appropriate location, will be subject to a detailed analysis of the needs of the museum.”Media Contact: Connie McNeill
