Implementation of New Clinical Information System May Cause Minor Delays at Queen Elizabeth Hospital

* Health [to Jan 2010]
Members of the general public are advised that they may experience delays when registering for services at Queen Elizabeth Hospital over the next few days, due to the implementation of the new Clinical Information System (CIS).

CIS was launched last night at midnight and because this is a new system there are some minor issues that could cause delays for patients registering for various services in the hospital. Patients are requested to arrive 30 minutes prior to their scheduled appointment time to allow sufficient time to be registered.

Patient safety and providing the best care possible is a top priority during this transition phase. Physicians and hospital staff across the province have worked diligently to plan, prepare and train for the introduction of the new system.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause, and appreciates the patience of the public as we implement this new system.
