April 1, 2008 * Fisheries and Aquaculture [to Apr 2008]Prince Edward Island Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister Allan Campbell has expressed his condolences to the family and friends of the four victims of the trawler L’Acadien II which capsized early Saturday off the coast of Cape Breton while being towed by a Canadian Coast Guard vessel. “While fishing communities are all too familiar with the perils of the sea, nothing can prepare them for these kinds of tragedies,” said Mr. Campbell. “We share a deep sense of loss, and our thoughts and prayers are with the families where that loss is most deeply felt.” The Minister said that the Prince Edward Island fishing community is mourning the loss of the four crew members.
