Minister Sheridan Announces Appointments to Board of Harness Racing P.E.I. Inc.

Provincial Treasurer Wes Sheridan, Minister Responsible for Harness Racing, today announced appointments to the Board of Harness Racing P.E.I. Inc. which manages the harness racing activities at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Mr. Blaine MacPherson of North Wiltshire has been appointed Chair of the Board. Mr. MacPherson is an active horse owner and breeder and has served as Chair of the PEI Harness Racing Industry Association.

Mr. Marvyn Webster of Tyne Valley has been reappointed to the Board for a three-year term. Mr. Webster is an active horse owner and breeder, and has served as a Executive member of the Summerside Raceway and the PEI Harness Racing Industry Association.

Ms. Cindy MacDonald of Montague has been appointed to the Board for a three- year term. Ms. MacDonald and her husband Ken operate a farm and training centre, and are active horse owners. Cindy is a member of the Board of the PEI Standardbred Horse Owners Association.
