Minister MacAdam Announces Environmental Advisory Council Appointments

The Honourable Kevin J. MacAdam, Minister of Fisheries and Environment, today announced the appointment of three new members to the Environmental Advisory Council. The role of the Council is to advise the Minister on matters related to the environment.

Appointed to the Environmental Advisory Council by Executive Council, under section four of the Environmental Protection Act, are Bruce Gillespie of Indian River, Lorne MacNeill, of West Cape and, Dr. Donna Giberson from the University of Prince Edward Island. All appointments are for three-year terms to the Council.

"I look forward to the input these new members will offer to the Council," said Mr. MacAdam, in announcing the appointments. "The knowledge and experience of new members will prove most beneficial to me in the Council's deliberations of issues and their resulting advice to me." With these appointments there are now thirteen members on the Council, including Jane Murray of Bedeque who is the current chair of the Council.
