Well-known Quebec author, Josée Ouimet, will be visiting Prince Edward Island next week to share workshops and readings with summer library patrons.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for library patrons, and children especially, to enjoy the readings and workshops given by this well-known Quebec author,” said Carolyn Bertram, Minister of Communities, Cultural Affairs and Labour. “Libraries play an important role in helping children and adults alike become more familiar with Canadian literature, through books, technology and live readings.”
Ms. Ouimet will be visiting with TD Summer Reading Club participants and others at the libraries in Cornwall, Souris, Hunter River, and Abrams Village. She will also visit the J.Henri Blanchard library in Summerside and Dr. J. Edmond Arsenault library in Charlottetown.
The tour, which will run from July 11-13, 2007, is sponsored by the Canadian Council of the Arts and organized by the Department of Communities, Cultural Affairs and Labour. For more information about the tour, visit the events page of the library website at www.library.pe.ca .
