March 5, 2007 Premier's OfficePremier Pat Binns today issued the following statement on the re-election of Chief Darlene Bernard as Chief of the Lennox Island First Nation: “Throughout her term in office, Chief Bernard has worked diligently within her community and with all levels of government to advance the interests of the Lennox Island First Nation. Her focus on the areas of economic and community development fits well with our government’s vision on engaging and energizing local communities. I congratulate her on her re-election and look forward to working with her on various projects and initiatives in the future.” Chief Bernard was first elected as Chief of the Lennox Island First Nation in 2001.
