Premier Acknowledges the Passing of Honourable Madam Senator Eileen G. Rossiter

Premier Pat Binns today issued the following statement on the recent passing of The Honourable Madam Senator Eileen G. Rossiter.

“On behalf of all Islanders, I wish to extend condolences to Senator Rossiter’s family and many friends in their time of loss. Senator Rossiter was a person who did not seek the spotlight but chose to serve the public in a quiet, determined manner. In particular, she did a lot of work for society’s disadvantaged through her role as Deputy Chair of the Senate Standing Committee on Human Rights. Her accomplishments in business, politics and dedication to public service have inspired many Islanders and will not soon be forgotten.”
