July 4, 2006 Their Honours, Lieutenant Governor J. Léonce Bernard and Madame Florence Bernard, are hosting their annual garden party on the grounds of Government House on Thursday, July 6, 2006 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. This event has been a tradition for Lieutenant Governors and in the past was by invitation only. Governor Bernard opened the party to the general public and notified the various media outlets in an effort to make everyone aware of the new policy. Islanders and tourists alike are welcome to stop by and meet Their Honours and take a stroll on the grounds of this beautiful historical property.
