Development and Technology Minister Mike Currie extends congratulations to Sergio Golod and Marcela Rosemberg from Royal Glass Design, a company that produces functional and decorative fused glass pieces, on their official grand opening of a new retail store in Stratford, Prince Edward Island. The Open House is on Friday, June 9, 2006, at 36 Hopeton Road in Stratford between 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Royal Glass Design creates colorful glass works using a technique that fuses at least two layers of glass into one piece. The new store will also feature Judaica art and architectural glasswork.
“We're thrilled to open a new retail store here,” said Marcela, who co-owns and operates Royal Glass Design with her husband Sergio. “Since establishing our business in Prince Edward Island, many doors of opportunity for our business have been opened. Harmonizing a retail outlet with our studio workshop will enable us to expand and promote our products to other retail outlets in Canada and the United States.”
Immigrants from Argentina, Sergio and Marcela, along with their two children, came to Prince Edward Island in December 2003. Using traditional techniques and experimenting with many of their different ideas, Sergio and Marcela develop unique methods and pieces.

This company consistently produces superior products and has been an excellent addition to our craft and giftware industry in PEI.”
Since opening in 2003, Royal Glass Design has earned a reputation in many markets as a quality product. The company continues to expand its product line which now includes unique platters, plates, trays, clocks, bowls, Judaica art, room dividers, bath sinks, mirror frames and tiles.
