Four-Time World Long Drive Champion To Perform Exhibition At Event

On June 19-20, one of golf’s greatest rivalries, and friendships, will come to Prince Edward Island as Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson go head-to-head in the Making the Connection ® Legends of Golf. Tickets for the first edition of this annual event, priced at $90 (plus tax), go on sale to the public this Wednesday, March 1 at 10 a.m. through Ticketweb at 1-888-222-6608.

It was also announced today that four-time World Long Drive Champion Jason Zuback will participate in the event as he puts on a long drive exhibition for fans on Monday, June 19 at Dundarave Golf Course at The Rodd Brudenell River Resort. A native and resident of Alberta, Zuback thrills golf fans around the world with his monstrous drives, his longest in competition being 468 yards, and driving stunts, which includes him driving a golf ball through a telephone book.

“It is a thrill to be involved in this new event that will see two of the best the game has ever seen, and two of my heroes, face off against each other again,” said Zuback. “Prince Edward Island has always been one of my favourite places in the country to visit, and golf, and I’m excited about being invited to participate.”

As one of Canada’s premier golf destinations, Prince Edward Island will play official host to the new event, which is a partnership between IMG Canada, Tourism PEI and Making the Connection. Making the Connection is a program dedicated to the ongoing education of Canadians about the health risks associated with high cholesterol, and to encouraging Canadians to take action to control high cholesterol to reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke.
