August 1, 1997 The Prince Edward Island Liquor Control Commission announced today that the price of domestic beer will increase effective August 4, 1997. The new retail price for beer manufactured in the Maritimes will rise to $15.90 per dozen, an increase of $0.30 per dozen over last year. Included in the price is the $ 1.20 empty bottle refund. This increase is the result of the Commission requiring additional revenues in order to meet its budgetary commitments. This is the first increase for beer retail prices since June, 1995.
