The Minister of Development and Technology, Mike Currie encourages business owners across the province to take part in the several activities planned between October 17-21, 2005, throughout Small Business Week.
Some of this year’s agenda includes seminars on “Boost Your Business With Market Research,” “Dealing With Your Banker or Other Lenders” and “Connecting With Your Customer.” These workshops take place in O’Leary, Mill River, Central Bedeque Montague and Charlottetown.
“At Prince Edward Island Business Development and Technology PEI, we are committed to supporting Island businesses with programs and services,” said Minister Currie. “Owning a business requires the management of relationships with customers and employees, among many other responsibilities. Through these workshops, Island business owners will be provided with valuable information, resources and tools they can put to use in their everyday business operations.”
The lunchtime sessions are presented by PEI Business Development / Technology PEI and the Canada/PEI Business Service Centre.
“Small businesses and Island entrepreneurs are fundamental aspects to our local economy,” said Minister Currie. “The Island relies heavily on having a healthy business environment to keep our economy strong. Small Business Week is a time to celebrate the accomplishments of Island businesses and recognize their contribution to our province.”
In addition to the lunch and learn workshops, PEI Business Development / Technology PEI is pleased to be a partner in the 2005 Women in Business Symposium October 19-20, at the Rodd Mill River Resort in Mill River. This year’s keynote speaker is Nadja Piatka, founder and President of Nadja Foods.
