Basin Head Ready for Action

Tourism PEI would like to let Islanders and visitors know that Basin Head Provincial Park is open and ready for everyone to hit the beach.

Damage done by tidal surges over the winter months has been addressed in the first stage of clean up, allowing visitors to the area to access the famous singing sand beaches.

“We were very anxious to see the area redeveloped in a manner that pleased the local area residents and the many visitors to come to Basin Head to enjoy the beach,” noted Minister of Tourism, Philip Brown. “Working along with the Department of Transportation and Public Works and the local Basin Head Committee, we have been able to go forward with a plan to undo some of the damage done throughout the winter. In the fall, after the highest traffic period for the beach, work crews will begin the next phase of reconstruction.”
