Sales, Attendance Up at 11th Annual Wine Festival

It was another successful year for the PEI Liquor Control Commission’s annual Wine Festival. Attendance at the event was up eight and a half percent over last year. Approximately 1,270 people attended the festival over two days. Sales at the wine boutique were up two percent to $73,728.76.

“The Wine Festival is a great event for people who are interested in sampling some new products and in learning more about fine wines, “said Mike Currie, Minister Responsible for the Liquor Control Commission. “The festival also generates revenue for the province, so the time and effort put in by PEILCC staff to make this a success also has significant benefits.”

The annual silent auction raised $4,400 for the PEI Hospice Association.
