Elections to Egg and Hog Boards

* Agriculture, Fisheries & Aquaculture [to Jun 2007]
The returning officer for the Prince Edward Island Marketing Council today announced the results of elections to the Egg Producers and Hog Commodity Marketing boards. Leith Murray, Kensington, and Peter Vriends, Covehead, have been re-elected to the Egg Producers of Prince Edward Island Board of Directors. Both producers were elected by acclamation following a nomination process that took place during January 2005. Elected producers serve two-year terms commencing on the first of April 2005.

Reginald MacDonald, Mount Stewart, has been elected to the Hog Commodity Marketing Board by acclamation for a three-year term. “Mr. MacDonald will represent hog producers in Queens County, and he will assume office on April 1, 2005," said Mr. Myles. Since no nominations were received to fill a vacancy on the Hog Board for Prince County prior to the deadline, Marketing Council will appoint a producer to fill the vacancy after consulting with the Board.
