The Minister of Development and Technology, Mike Currie applauds small business owners across the province and encourages everyone to take part in the several activities planned between October 18 and 22, 2004.
“Small businesses are the onset of prosperity in a community, said Minister Currie. “Without small business, there is no economic growth, and no jobs. Small business is at the heart of a growing community and a healthy province economically.”
PEI Business Development is proud to once again be a partner to host a series of lunch and learn workshops across the province on marketing, customer service and human resources. The workshops are focussed on topics and tools which business owners can put to use in their everyday business operations.
“The business community is the backbone to a strong and vibrant economy across this province,” Currie added. “Our Department, through Prince Edward Island Business Development, has worked closely with many Island companies and we are aware of the challenges that businesses face on a daily business. As one of the lead economic development agency for the province, we are committed to supporting Island businesses through several government programs and services.”
Workshops will be held in O’Leary, Tignish, Borden-Carleton, Summerside, Crapaud, Central Bedeque, Charlottetown, Montague and Rollo Bay. For a complete listing of times and locations, contact PEI Business Development at 1-800-563-3734.
