Popular Seniors Net Program Available Again

The popular Seniors Net program will again be available to all Islanders over the age of 55. The Seniors Net program consists of two, 90 minute, one-on-one training sessions with a qualified tutor. The first session focuses on basic computer skills in easy-to-understand terms. Some topics will include printing and saving files and how to use a computer mouse. The second session focuses on a series of applications surrounding the Internet, including how to use e-mail and how to perform a search for reliable health information.

New to the program this year is a Seniors Net “Easy-Computing” Guide. The information booklet includes a “Common Myths” section followed by five main topic divisions including Computer Basics, Common Windows Tasks, Internet, E-mail, Word Processing, Troubleshooting, etc. The booklet is based on Microsoft Windows XP, Outlook Express, Internet Explorer and Word.
