Trade Team PEI Hosts Virtual Trade Mission To Mexico

Prince Edward Island companies interested in exporting to Mexico will have a chance to participate in the province’s first-ever Virtual Trade Mission. The event will be hosted by Trade Team PEI in partnership with the Canadian Consulate Guadalajara, Mexico. It will allow the companies to investigate the potential business opportunities in this market. The Virtual Trade Mission will take place in the boardroom at the Atlantic Technology Centre in Charlottetown, on Friday, June 18.

Representatives from the companies will be connected with trade officials and companies In Guadalajara. Guadalajara was selected because of its size, economic considerations and geographic proximity to the coast. Participating Island companies will be able to watch live presentations from key Mexican trade officials, Canadian Consulate staff, and potential buyers. They will also be able to interact with the presenters. “This is a great opportunity for Island companies to view presentations from Mexican representatives to learn more about this lucrative market,” Currie said. “It’s also a way for businesses to identify with a new market without having to leave the province. Once an interest has been established, participating companies can travel to Mexico already knowing the business potential that exists.”

If there is sufficient interest, the Virtual Trade Mission will be followed up with a Trade Team PEI trade mission to Mexico.

Trade Team PEI encourages active exporters to expand their businesses through trade missions, trade learning sessions and by helping companies identify new opportunities. It assists Island companies to learn how to become more productive and increase their sales and profits that will ultimately generate more jobs on Prince Edward Island.
