Outdated Equipment Heads South

* Transportation and Public Works [to Jan 2010]
Honourable Michael Currie, Minister of Transportation and Public Works, is pleased to announce that a very positive use has been found for obsolete laundry equipment from the former School of Nursing. As there is no further use for this equipment on PEI, it has been donated to St. Joseph's Hospital in Guyana, South America, which is operated by the Scarborough Fathers Mission.

Mr. Currie stated, "Although this equipment has no intrinsic value to the Province it will be of great use to St. Joseph's Hospital. The Scarborough Fathers are to be commended and I am sure that all Islanders wish them well with their efforts and we are pleased to be of some small assistance."

A local volunteer group will arrange for the dis-assembly, removal and transportation of this equipment and it will be shipped along with other items to South America later this year.
