Prince Edward Island Business Development Inc. salutes small business owners across the province and encourages everyone to take part in the several activities planned between October 19-25, 2003.
"Small businesses on Prince Edward Island play an important role in strengthening our PEI economy," said Mike Currie, Minister of Development and Technology. "Small Business Week is a time to acknowledge and celebrate the accomplishments of all Island businesses who contribute to our local economy and create employment opportunities for Islanders."
PEI Business Development has partnered to host a series of lunch-and-learn workshops across the province on marketing, customer service and human resources. The workshops are focussed on topics and tools which business owners can put to use in their everyday business operations.
"The business community in PEI is strong and vibrant," Currie added. "Our Department, through PEI Business Development Inc., has worked closely with many companies, and we are aware of the dedication and hard work it takes to operate a successful business. As the lead economic development agency for the province, we are committed to supporting Island businesses through several government programs and services."
Workshops will be held in O'Leary, Tignish, Borden-Carleton, Summerside, Crapaud, North River, Charlottetown, Montague and Rollo Bay. For a complete listing of times and locations contact PEI Business Development at 1-800-563-3734.
