ADVANCE POLLS OPEN IN THE OFFICE OF EACH RETURNING OFFICER

Prince Edward Island's Chief Electoral Officer, M. H. Wigginton, says that "under Prince Edward Island's Election Act, any eligible elector in Prince Edward Island who may not be able to vote on Ordinary Polling Day, Monday, September 29th, 2003 may vote at the additional Advance Polls held in each of the district returning officer's office at the following dates and times:" Wednesday, September 24th 2003, between 12 (noon) and 6:00 p.m.; Thursday, September 25th 2003, between 12 (noon) and 6:00 p.m.; Friday, September 26th 2003, between 12 (noon) and 6:00 p.m.; Saturday, September 27th 2003, between 12 (noon) and 6:00 p.m.

Any qualified elector may vote at the Returning Officer's Office by completing an application at the office for Advance Poll Voting as prescribed by the Chief Electoral Officer and must provide prescribed signature identification (ie: current driver's license). If his or her name is not on the official list of electors of the electoral district, he or she will be asked to take the required oath or oaths in the prescribed form(s).

Chief Electoral Officer Wigginton said, "Any elector requiring additional information may contact his or her district returning officer or Elections PEI at 1-888-234-vote (8683) or visit the Elections PEI website at www.electionspei.ca."

An elector can identify his or her polling location at the Elections PEI website by clicking on to find your electoral district; typing in his or her civic address number/street name; clicking on the electoral district next to the civic address and then the following information will be displayed: Returning Officer's name, address and phone number; electoral district name and number; polling division name and number; polling station location and polling station civic address to vote at on Ordinary Polling Day, September 29th, 2003.
