Premier Binns Recognizes the Anniversary of the September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attacks

Premier's Office
Premier Pat Binns recognizes tomorrow as the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington and asks all Islanders to honour the memory of those who lost their lives.

"Islanders have always expressed a great deal of compassion and support to families, friends and co-workers who lost loved ones following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001," says Premier Binns. "I would like to take this opportunity to encourage all Islanders to take a moment out of their day tomorrow, to remember those who lost their lives and the families who live on. Tomorrow, we look back at the horrific events of that day while honouring the heroism of citizens, of law enforcement officers and of firefighters."

Flags at provincial government buildings across the province will fly at half mast in remembrance of those who lost their lives.
