Premier Pat Binns and the Provincial Cabinet will be traveling to Tyne Valley tomorrow as the first stop on the 2003 schedule of community cabinet meetings.
Premier Pat Binns and his cabinet will continue meeting in communities across the province during the summer and fall months. Tomorrow, the Cabinet will convene at the Stewart Memorial Hospital at 9 a.m.
"We have found community cabinet meetings to be valuable in terms of partnering with communities to advance projects of mutual interest. Much of our decision-making at the cabinet table draws from these types of consultations," said Premier Binns.
Cabinet will conduct its regular weekly business until 10:45 a.m. Meetings are then scheduled with the Tyne Valley Village Council, the PEI Shellfish Association and PEI Oyster Commodity Group, and the Stewart Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Philip Brown, MLA for Cascumpec-Grand River, will be present for the meetings with the Cabinet.
"It is important to stay in touch. Clearly, this is an important example of how we gather input and work collaboratively for the best interests of Island communities," said the Premier.
