Seahorse Entertainment to Produce TV Series in New ATC Facilities

Seahorse Entertainment's highly successful children's television series, "The Adventures of the AfterMath Crew," will be the first television production shot in the new Atlantic Technology Centre (ATC) in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Series producer Larry LeClair announced today that an expanded schedule of twenty-six episodes of the series will be produced entirely at ATC, using the state-of-the-art sound stage and technical facilities located in the new centre.

"We're delighted to serve as the inaugural live production at the ATC," said LeClair. "We can do the entire production from shooting through final editing all under one roof, which is exactly what we've been looking for. I think the ATC is a great leap forward for the industry here in the province."

Shooting is scheduled to begin in September with a budget approaching two million dollars. The new production cycle will feature local cast and crew, creating an anticipated forty jobs.

The Honourable Mike Currie, Minister of Development and Technology says the media production facilities within the ATC will allow more work to be done in Prince Edward Island.

"In the past, individuals like Larry LeClair have had to be very creative in finding locations in which to shoot their productions," said the Minister. "The ATC has been designed with a professional sound stage, mixing theatre, and post-production facilities so the entire production can be done in the province, instead of this work leaving Prince Edward Island."

This will be the third series of episodes of "The Adventures of the AfterMath Crew," which are broadcast around the world, from South Africa to Singapore. In Canada, it appears on the Aboriginal People's Television Network, TV Ontario, and on regional broadcasters.

"With the new cycle, we'll have a total of fifty-two episodes for sale around the world - all produced entirely in Prince Edward Island. It's quite an achievement," said LeClair.

Scheduled to open in August, ATC will feature key infrastructure including state-of-the-art office space, specialized research labs, a business incubator and smart boardrooms, as well as a world class media production environment for television and new media projects with a sound stage, interactive theatre, digital audio and picture editing suites, green screen and webcasting capability.

ATC is designed to stimulate new partnerships among firms seeking a competitive business environment to locate innovative applied research, new product and solution development, testing and pre-commercialization. For more information visit www.atlantictechnologycentre.ca.
