Potato Board Nomination Results

* Agriculture and Forestry [to Oct 2003]
Recent nominations for elections to the Prince Edward Island Potato Board have resulted in four producers being nominated.

In the East District, Wayne Diamond, Winsloe, and Alvin Keenan, New Zealand, were nominated for the table stock producer position. An election for this position will be conducted by means of a mail out ballot to registered producers in that district.

In the Central District, Dwight Gardiner, North Bedeque, was elected by acclamation to a processing producer position.

In the West District, Barry Gallant, Mill Road, was elected by acclamation to a seed producer position.

The Prince Edward Island Potato Board consists of nine members – one seed producer, one table stock producer, and one processing producer from each district. Members are elected to three year terms with the positions being staggered with respect to region and sector representation.

The new directors will begin their term following the annual meeting in September.
