Petroleum Pricing Adjustments

The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission announced today that wholesalers have been authorized to increase gasoline prices in both their dealer and consumer schedules by 0.5 cent per litre and have been directed to decrease diesel prices in their dealer schedules by 2.4 cents per litre. Approved prices of furnace fuel, consumer diesel fuel and stove oil will not change from their current levels at this time.

Irving Oil Limited received approval to increase, by 0.5 cpl, and Superior Propane Inc. received approval to increase, by 0.7 cpl, all propane prices contained in their respective propane pricing schedules based on increased product acquisition costs.

All pricing adjustments become effective at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2002.
