The Prince Edward Island Liquor Control Commission has suspended the lounge operation known as "Melon's Lounge," License # LL10-113, located in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, for a seven (7) day period commencing 11:00 am, Saturday, March 2, 2002, through to and including 11:00 am, Saturday, March 9, 2002.
The Liquor Control Commission is satisfied that violations of the Liquor Control Act Regulations took place under the following sections, in particular, violations of Sections 70(a), and 78 and 70(b) of the Liquor Control Act Regulations. These sections read as follows:
Section 70(a) -- A Licensee shall not permit any liquor to be taken from or into his licensed premises otherwise than is permitted by the Act and these Regulations.
Suspension = 3 days
Section 70(b) -- A Licensee shall not permit any disorderly conduct or vulgar or profane language by any person in his licensed premises.
Suspension = 2 days
Section 78 -- All licensed premises shall be vacated not later than one half hour after the prescribed closing hour.
Suspension = 2 days
The above suspension indicated a lack of control at this premise.
