The Honourable Mike Currie, Minister of Development and Technology, is pleased with the news On Line Support is adding 60 new jobs at its Charlottetown centre.
On Line Support, an Internet technology customer support service provider, is adding 60 new full and part time positions with hiring scheduled to begin this month.
Minister Currie says it is exciting to see this PEI based company continue to find new markets and create employment. "This is a significant job growth announcement and is another example of how Prince Edward Island's economy continues to grow despite conditions being experienced elsewhere in the world," said Minister Currie.
"Recent projections have indicated the PEI economy will continue to move along, in fact will outgrow the national average, and there is every indication Prince Edward Island will continue to do well," added the Minister.
The Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of On Line Support, Kent MacPhee, says the additional staff requirements are the result of two new contracts and the continued growth of existing clients, and gives credit to his employees. "Our people are unparalleled, and there is no question their quality of work has led to this growth," said MacPhee.
On Line Support will now employ over 400 people at its two locations in Charlottetown, PEI and Kentville, Nova Scotia.
In an effort to provide opportunities across the province, On Line Support conducted job fairs this week in Montague, Summerside and Charlottetown.
