Interest "Sailing In" For Hustler Fibreglass Boats

A West Prince company which began production a year ago this month, is beginning to see the fruits of its labour as customer orders start rolling in. Hustler Fibreglass Boat Ltd. produces fishing and pleasure craft with a unique design created by company owner Jamie Hustler.

"Our boat is 45-feet long with a "V"-shaped bow and a wider stern than traditional styles which provides greater stability, a smoother sail and more power at the same speed," said Hustler. "This design is aimed at improving the product for consumers and has generated considerable interest within the market."

Hustler Fibreglass Boats recently completed its first customer order. That boat is now in the water and two more orders are in production for the upcoming lobster season.

The Honourable Mike Currie, Minister of Development and Technology, called in on Hustler today while visiting the area and was pleased to see the progress being made.

"The last time I visited Hustler Fibreglass Boats, they had just completed the plug for the first vessel. That was in April and now, a few short months later, they have a finished product in the water and more orders are coming in," said Minister Currie. "Things look very promising for this company. It's great to see them off to such a strong start."

Hustler Fibreglass Boats currently employs five staff members and Jamie sees the potential for hiring up to ten employees if product demand permits.

The Government of Prince Edward Island assisted in the establishment of the Hustler Fibreglass Boats Limited site in West Prince through Prince Edward Island Business Development, the lead business development corporation for the Province.
