May 18, 2001 * Community and Cultural Affairs [to Jun 2007] The Honourable Gail A. Shea, Minister of Community and Cultural Affairs and Minister Responsible for the Worker's Compensation Board, has attempted to discuss concerns with Blair Ross and offered to meet with him in her office this afternoon. The Minister contacted Mr. Ross by telephone this afternoon. Minister Shea offered to assist Mr. Ross is having his appeal heard by the Worker's Compensation Appeal Tribunal as soon as possible. Mr. Ross' does not appear to be willing to go through an appeal process. "I realize that Mr. Ross has serious concerns with regard to his dealings with the Worker's Compensation Board," says Minister Shea. "However, Mr. Ross abruptly ended our conversation when I did not agree to have the Worker's Compensation Board charged with fraud as he had requested." Mr. Ross had previously scheduled a meeting with the Minister for Wednesday, May 23. Time is set aside for this meeting if Mr. Ross chooses to show up. Several of the items that Mr. Ross takes issue with are currently being reviewed through the legislative advisory committee, to which Mr. Ross has already made a presentation.
