The community of Crapaud is now home to an Access PEI site. Access PEI will be co-located with the newly renovated Crapaud library. The facility was officially opened on Saturday May 5, 2001 by Development and Technology Minister Mike Currie.
The Crapaud Access PEI site is the eleventh to open in the province. Access PEI provides one-stop shopping for over 100 provincial government services. Through an inter-departmental partnership, staff will serve both the library and Access PEI.
Hours for the Crapaud site will make it more convenient for people to access government services. The office will be open two afternoons a week – but will also be open two evenings a week and Saturday mornings.
"We recognize that people don't always have time to get to a government office during regular business hours," said Mike Currie, Minister of Development and Technology. "This way, people can stop by on their way home from work, or on a Saturday morning, and get the information and services they need."
The library and Access PEI site in Crapaud will be open Wednesday and Thursday 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 until 12:00. Access PEI is located on the Trans Canada Highway, behind the pharmacy.
