The Department of Transportation and Public Works recently made a presentation to the Canadian Transportation Act Review Panel discussing present and future challenges facing Prince Edward Island's transportation network. This presentation is now available to the public online.

The presentation covered a number of pressing issues with regards to the Island transportation network. These issues range from the financial and environmental implications of road maintenance without cost-shared funding to the opportunities of increased technology to improve service delivery.

"By having this resource available online, I am hopeful that it will give Islanders a better understanding of the long-term challenges facing our Province in ensuring that we maintain a quality transportation network for the safe, efficient movement of people, goods and services on Prince Edward Island," said Transportation and Public Works Minister Don MacKinnon.
