2001 Tourism Marketing Campaign To Be Launched March 6

* Tourism [to Jan 2010]
The 2001 marketing campaign for the tourism industry on Prince Edward Island is about to commence, and Minister of Tourism, Greg Deighan, together with the Tourism Marketing Authority Co-Chair, Mr. James Tingley, will join representatives of the tourism industry at the Confederation Centre of the Arts at 6:00 pm on March 6th for the annual marketing and media plan presentation.

This year, the event will be held in conjunction with the Tourism Industry Association of Prince Edward Island's semi-annual meeting. The TIAPEI event runs all day at the Delta Prince Edward and is followed by the main stage presentation which details the commercial endeavours and marketing strategies set out by the Tourism Marketing Authority in partnership with Tourism PEI.

The presentation provides Island tourism operators and interested parties 2001 advertising materials, marketing and media plan and information kits with updated publications. Minister Deighan noted, "the Tourism Marketing Authority along with our department work for many months previous to the presentation, bringing direction to our marketing strategy for the year. The presentation we bring on the 6th of March outlines the strategies used to make the plan effective in marketing our Island to visitors."

This annual event provides a great opportunity for professionals who work long and hard during the summer months to come together as an industry, view the marketing and media plan, and enjoy a variety of Island entertainment. Anyone who is interested is welcome to come to the Confederation Centre of the Arts and see the creative displays of advertising that portray the Island in other areas of our country and beyond. The show will begin at 6:00 pm, once the trade show element of the TIAPEI semi-annual meeting is complete. Mark it on your calendar and come and enjoy the show.
