The Honourable Jeffrey E. Lantz, Attorney General, today announced four new appointments of Queen's Counsel.
Appointed as Queen's Counsel are Gordon L. Campbell of Stewart, McKelvey, Stirling & Scales; Derek D. Key of Key, McKnight & Peacock; Dolores M. Crane of MacLeod, Crane & Parkman; and John W. Hennessey of Foster, Hennessey & MacKenzie.
"The four new Queen's Counsels, representing the legal community of Prince Edward Island are all partners in their firms and are heavily involved in and make significant contributions to their legal profession and to their communities," says Attorney General Lantz. "I wish to thank each individual for accepting this appointment."
In accordance with the Legal Profession Act, members of the Law Society of Prince Edward Island are appointed Queen's Counsel upon recommendation of the Queen's Counsel Recommendations Committee. This committee is made up of the president, a member in good standing appointed by the council, one person appointed by the Attorney General, a justice of the Supreme Court of Prince Edward Island, and a judge of the Provincial Court of Prince Edward Island.
