Florida and Georgia Offer New Market Potential

Florida and Georgia are popular vacation spots, but have you ever considered these states as new markets for your business?

Trade Team PEI, in collaboration with the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, is hosting a one-day information session on doing business in the south eastern United States. Trade Commissioners from Canadian Consulate offices in Miami, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia will provide an overview of market opportunities in their respective territories. The focus will be on the sectors of information technology, value-added building products, consumer products, seafood and agri-food.

This workshop is ideal for firms who are currently exporting or are interested in starting to export. It will offer practical, current information about the booming Florida and Georgia markets. More than 80 per cent of Prince Edward Island's exports are to the United States, and the strength of the US economy offers increased opportunities for PEI companies.

Speakers will also discuss the role of the customs broker and export insurance. Participants will be given the opportunity to meet one-on-one with buyers as well as Trade Commissioners during the afternoon.

This event is being held on Tuesday, October 24th , 2000 at the Best Western Charlottetown Hotel in Charlottetown from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
