November 28, 1996 * Agriculture and Forestry [to Oct 2003]One of Canada's leading hog industry executives will share his experience with Prince Edward Island pork producers next week. Dr. John Patience, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Prairie Swine Centre in Saskatoon, will be the featured speaker at a session for producers on Monday, December 2 at the Dutch Inn at 7:30 p.m. Dr. Patience will be discussing with producers the most efficient ways to manage swine nutrition and formulate rations to maximize profits. This is part of a series of farm business planning sessions funded by the Canada/Prince Edward Island Farm Business Management Agreement. Dr. Patience grew up on a hog and beef farm in southern Ontario and has worked extensively with producers and the feed industry in swine nutrition research and on-farm studies. He was appointed Director of the Prairie Swine Centre in 1987 and became President when the Centre was incorporated in 1991.
