Premier Pat Binns and the Province of Prince Edward Island, in co-operation with the Prince Edward Council of the Arts, is pleased to announce "The Premier's Island Landscape Competition." Any work representing a Prince Edward Island landscape is acceptable.
The competition is open to all artists and is part of the Millennium program supported by the Provincial Millennium Committee.
"Inspired by Our Past, Embracing Our Future"..."Inspirs par notre passe...tournes vers l'avenir."
The competition closes on November 15, 2000 at 12:00 noon.
All work must be submitted to the: Council of the Arts, 2nd floor, 115 Richmond Street, Charlottetown, PEI.
All submissions will be judged by a jury.
Submissions must be a new painting or an original print. The works submitted to the competition will remain the property of the artist. The following prizes will be presented by Premier Pat Binns at a special ceremony: First - $1000; Second - $750; Third - $500; Fourth - $250
It is the intent of the organizers to have an exhibition of all submitted work during the month of November.
Premier Pat Binns stated, "The beautiful Island landscape is something we often take for granted. I believe, in this special Millennium year, that we should recognize the beauty of the landscape through the talents of our artistic community. When these works go on display during a special ceremony in November, I urge Islanders to view this exhibition."
